Transcript:
Hi there. The first conditional. If plus present then future. Let me give you an example. If you are late, if plus present, if you are, I will be angry. If plus present then I will be angry. We use this for real situations in the present or future, but for specific situations. If you remember from the zero conditional: If you are late I am angry. I am angry if you are late. That is present... if plus present then present. That is for situations that are always or generally true. For the first conditional we are using this for a specific situation. Let us contrast again. If I study, I pass my exams. Zero conditional always true. If I study, I will pass my exams. In this one I have specific exams in the future, and if I study now I will pass those specific exams. So, there you are, the first conditional. If or when plus present, then future. Let me give some more examples: If I am tired, I will go to bed. OK. If that situation exists, then the next thing will happen. If you don't have any money, we will go to the bank. Ok, again specific situation. So, thanks for watching and I'll see you in the next video, which will explain about the second conditional. See you there, bye.
